The new standard for environmental protection of imported waste plastics has been officially released.

      In Nov. 15,2017,China has issued a circular to the world trade organization (wto) to solicit opinions from the world trade organization on the standard of environmental protection and control of solid waste for imported materials.

      This standard is applicable to imported solid wastes as raw materials) directory import management of waste plastics, is formulated in order to strictly restricted imports of solid waste, control caused by imported waste plastics as raw materials of environmental pollution.

     The standard defines the waste plastics as: thermoplastic scraps, leftover materials and defective products produced during the process of plastic production and the processing of plastic products.

     Standard requirement:

     Imports of waste plastics cannot be mixed with radioactive waste, can not be mixed with waste bombs, shells and other explosive weapons and ammunition, the total weight requirement of waste plastics to mix some hazardous waste must not exceed 0.01% by weight of the imported waste plastics, mixed some other inclusions total weight must not exceed 0.5% by weight of the imported waste plastics.

       Jiangsu Wuxi inspection and quarantine bureau: remind relevant enterprises, should be paid close attention to the latest standards of the imported waste plastics, enterprise imported waste plastics as raw materials) must declare to the inspection and quarantine organ before entry, by the inspection and quarantine departments in accordance with the requirements of the national mandatory standard inspection qualified rear can use sales.

        Inspection and quarantine departments: will strengthen the law publicity of related import enterprise, continuously strengthen the supervision of waste raw materials at the same time, strengthen the risk prevention and control measures, closely monitoring port entry waste raw materials and radiation risk, pass of imported waste raw material quality and safety, maintenance of port security and people's life and health.
